Customs Clearance Specialist (d/f/m)

For our department "Global Trade Compliance" we are looking for a Customs Clearance Specialist (d/f/m) in the area Cuijk to support our team as soon as possible.

Your Role

• Manages customs broker operations and document flow quality

• Calculates import duties and manages duty avoidance for exports

• Secures necessary certificates, licenses, and permits for customs clearance

• Informs business units about changes in customs and certification legislation

• Supports internal stakeholders in customs clearance, certification issues, and participates in custom audits

• Implements trade compliance procedures and supports continuous improvement activities

• Completed commercial vocational education with logistic know-how and knowledge of EU customs and Foreign Trade regulations (Export, Import, Origin & Preferences, Export control)

• Proficient in customs management processes and IT solutions/software, with confident handling of Microsoft Office; SAP knowledge is an advantage

• Strong analytical skills to solve complex problems and apply EU regulatory requirements in various scenarios

• Attention to detail, ability to work independently with limited supervision, and adaptability in uncertain situations

• Excellent communication skills in both oral and written form, with very good Dutch and good English language skills

• Willingness to travel to Essity locations in the Netherlands 1-2 times a year with a Customs Clearance Coordinator and/or Trade Compliance Manager
